Z [[Greenhithe]] vyplulo na palubách Erebu a Terroru hledat Severozápadní průjezd 134 mužů. Čtyři další byli ze stavů posádek vyřazeni ještě před vyplutím.

Pět účastníků expedice, kteří jako jediní přežili, protože byli coby služby neschopní odeslání domů ještě cestou do Grónska či z Grónska, jsou uvedeni podle knihy Francis L. M'Clintocka [[The voyage of the "Fox" in Arctic seas: a narrative of the discovery of the fate of Sir John Franklin and his companions‎]] ([http://www.gutenberg.org/files/37669/37669-h/37669-h.htm#Page_317 s. 317]). Podle ní se 5 mužů z původních 134 vrátilo, 1 na [[HMS Rattler]] a 4 na dopravní lodi [[Barreto Junior]]. McClintock však neuvádí jmenovitě, kdo na které lodi a z jakého přesně důvodu.

==HMS [[Erebus]]==
Na Erebu vyplulo z [[Greenhithe]] 68 námořníků. Z Disko Bay se na [[Barreto Junior]] vrátil 1. Severozápadní průjezd se tedy nakonec na Erebu vydalo hledat 67 mužů.

Na <span class="name-ship">Terroru</span> se z <span class="name-place">Greenhithe</span> vydalo do <span class="name-place">Grónska</span> 66 námořníků. Jeden se vrátil na palubě tažného parníku <span class="name-ship">Rattler</span>, další 3 byli odesláni z <span class="name-place">Grónska</span> zpět do <span class="name-place">Anglie</span> na <span class="name-ship">Barreto Junior</span>. Celkem se tedy na poslední cestu bez návratu na palubě <span class="name-ship">Terroru</span> vydalo 62 mužů.
